Wilderness Church of God
Welcome to the Wilderness Church of God
Wilderness Church of God, a congregation of the Church of God, exists to be a light in the wilderness of Jesus Christ. Standing on the Church of God Declaration of Faith, sent by the Father, and led and empowered by the Holy Spirit, We Go, We Pray, We Preach, We Care, and We Disciple, so that those in the wilderness may hear God speak to them, lean on Christ, and walk in the new way He is making (Hos. 2:14; Song. 8:5; Isa. 43:19; Mat. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
Mission: The Church of God is to communicate the full gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19, 20) in the Spirit and power of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4, 6, 13-18)
Vision: Arises from our understanding of what the sovereign God purposes to do for and through His church. The Great Commission remains our mandate from Christ.
About Wilderness Church of God
Wilderness Church of God is a local church community located at The Mall of Sierra Vista in Sierra Vista, Arizona. We are an organized church under the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee. We are Spirit-led and dedicated to spreading the Gospel. We have an evangelistic heart for our community. Our mission is to be a light in the wilderness for Jesus Christ!
We stand firm in our Declaration of Faith. We are also committed to “rightly dividing the Word of Truth (2 Tim. 2:15). Our church is built on the foundation of God’s Word, Spirit-led, and the salvation of Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us as we grow together in faith, worship, and service to our community.
Three Scriptures define our local Church:
1. We believe God wants to allure us and speak tenderly to us in the wilderness.
- Hosea 2:14, “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.”
2. We, as the Bride of Christ, lean on our beloved as we emerge from the wilderness.
- Song of Solomon 8:5, “Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?…”
3. We believe God is doing a new work in our lives and making a way in the wilderness!
- Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
